    At the General Meeting today, Teresa Gonçalves was officially appointed as Chairwoman of SATA Holding and also of the subsidiaries SATA Internacional - Azores Airlines, SATA Air Açores, and SATA Gestão de Aeródromos.

  • Child fare offer for travel on SATA Azores Airlines between the mainland Portugal and the Azores

    The fare offer for younger travelers has already become a classic among SATA Air Açores and Azores Airlines commercial initiatives.

    Designed to promote and enable family travel, the campaign is in effect until March 13, 2023, and applies to trips to be made from February 27 to March 30 and, a little later, from April 18 to June 30, 2023. The campaign applies to flights between Lisbon or Porto and the Azores, which means that the fare offer applies in both directions.

  • Azores Airlines will have bilbao as one of its destinations for next summer

    Between July and September, Azores Airlines will operate a direct flight from Ponta Delgada (Azores) to Bilbao (Spain) once a week, on Saturdays. Departures from Ponta Delgada will be at 08:15 am, while departures from Bilbao will be at 2:10 pm. The flights will take approximately three hours.

    This connection completes the network of other destinations that the airline was already operating during the summer months, namely Spain, with the connection to Barcelona, which remains with the offer of three weekly flights.

    SATA Group airlines (SATA Air Açores and Azores Airlines) set records for passenger traffic in 2022.

    In the total of the two airlines, the number of passengers carried jumped to a new record of 1,920,451, which represents a growth of 49.9% in comparison to the previous year of 2021 and of 12.1% in comparison to 2019, the best year ever to date.

  • Azores Airlines celebrates one million passengers carried in a year for the first time

    The milestone of a million passengers carried in a single year had never been reached in the airline’s history. To share the moment, the airline surprised its passengers at the check-in counter for flight S4172 to Porto at Ponta Delgada airport on November 29.
    An oversized Boarding Pass was presented to surprise the passenger minutes after check-in was done. A certificate was also given as a souvenir of the symbolic moment.

    The SATA Group was distinguished with the Portuguese Quality Association (APQ) Award. The award ceremony occurred in Ponta Delgada, on October 20, as part of the VII Regional Quality Days.

    October 24 th will go down in Azores Airlines' history as the beginning of a new era, the date of its first-ever flight using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

    This milestone is even more significant considering that a few days ago, the SATA Group joined the European Union's Zero Emissions Aviation Alliance, an initiative aimed precisely at decarbonizing the sector by 2050.

  • SATA Air Açores held a ceremony for the Bombardier Q400

    The welcome ceremony was held for the Bombardier Q400 from SATA Air Açores (registration CS-TSE) which recently joined the airline’s fleet to ensure the reinforcement of flights between the islands of the Azores, considering the increase in traffic that was already expected and that has been occurring.

    The ceremony, chaired by the President of the Regional Government of the Azores, was held next to the SATA Air Açores Maintenance hangar and was attended by entities representing the Autonomous Region of the Azores and the aviation sector.
